Leonardo Caruana de las Cagigas is a Professor in the Department of Economic History at the University of Granada, Spain.

André Straus is a researcher at the CNRS, Paris, France, where he is Directeur de recherches Emeritus and Professor at University Paris1 Panthéon Sorbonne. His main topics of research are in economic and financial history XIX-XX centuries, notably the history of banking, financial markets, insurance and reinsurance.
