Lawrence's \u003ci\u003eLady Chatterley's Lover\u003c\/i\u003e in Great-Britain, up to the more recent trials on Klaus Mann's \u003ci\u003eMephisto \u003c\/i\u003eand Maxim Biller's novel \u003ci\u003eEsra \u003c\/i\u003ein Germany.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBy bringing together international leading experts, \u003ci\u003eLiterary Trials\u003c\/i\u003e represents the first step towards a systematic discussion of literary trials on a global scale. Beginning by first reassessing some of the most famous of these trials, it also analyses less well-known but significant literary trials.
