Critical research reviews across every area of inorganic chemistry

Keeping pace with the expanding literature in inorganic chemistry demands access to rigorous, critically evaluated reviews. Progress in Inorganic Chemistry: Volume 60 delivers exactly that, presenting a curated selection of authoritative contributions by internationally recognized researchers. Each chapter offers an in-depth evaluation of recent advances, providing the analytical context that primary literature alone cannot supply.

Progress in Inorganic Chemistry covers the full breadth of the discipline, from coordination and organometallic chemistry to bioinorganic systems, solid-state materials, inorganic reaction mechanisms, catalysis, f-element chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, nanoscience, and energy-related inorganic science. The reviews synthesize current research trajectories, assess emerging methodologies, and identify important opportunities for future investigation. This volume maintains the series' long-standing reputation for depth and quality recognized by the Journal of the American Chemical Society.

Readers will also find:

  • Comprehensive reviews of advances in molecular inorganic chemistry, including coordination compounds, organometallic complexes, biomimetic complexes, and related molecular species for applications from biology to catalysis to energy conversion
  • Critical assessments of progress in inorganic materials, including metal-organic frameworks, nanomaterials, and functional materials, and materials for energy conversion and storage applications
  • Authoritative reviews spanning organometallic, bioinorganic, coordination, and supramolecular chemistry, solid-state, materials chemistry written by leading international researchers in each subfield
  • Analysis of inorganic reaction mechanisms and structure-bonding relationships across molecular, extended, and hybrid systems of current interest
  • Coverage of emerging frontiers in in bioinorganic chemistry, energy conversion, sustainable inorganic chemistry, and ligand and complex design

Progress in Inorganic Chemistry: Volume 60 serves inorganic chemists and materials scientists working in academia, government laboratories, and industries including pharmaceutical, fine chemical, biotechnology, energy, electronics, environmental and agricultural sectors who require critically evaluated, current reviews to inform and advance their research programs.

David P. Goldberg is a Professor of Chemistry at Johns Hopkins University. He received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a former NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University. His research spans synthetic inorganic chemistry, inorganic reaction mechanisms, analogs of heme and nonheme metalloenzymes, and small-molecule activation relevant to biochemical transformations, energy, and catalysis. He was elected a AAAS Fellow in 2021 and received the ACS Maryland Chemist of the Year Award in 2024.
