There are four countries  with a semi-presidential constitution in this region - Armenia, Azerbaijan,  Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan. The authors introduce the concept of  semi-presidentialism, place the countries in a general post-Soviet context,  and compare them with Kazakhstan.
