He is a Fellow of IEEE (USA), IET (UK), and IETE (India) and a recipient of many international academic, industrial, and governmental awards and distinctions, including the Knight of the Order of Dannebrog (Ridderkorset af Dannebrogordenen, 2010) awarded by the Queen of Denmark. He is the founder president of the CTIF Global Capsule (CGC) and has been a founder Director of Center for TeleInFfrastruktur (CTIF) since 2004. He is also the founder Chairman of the Global ICT Standardization Forum for India, established in 2009. He is Editor-in-Chief of Springer's \u003ci\u003eWireless Personal Communications\u003c\/i\u003e journal and series editor of \u003ci\u003eWireless Technology\u003c\/i\u003e.
