Personnel in Practice has been written and developed to meet the needs of students undertaking the Institute of Personnel and Development Certificate in Personnel Practice Course (the IPD-CPP course). It gives students the knowledge, understanding and skills both to meet the course needs and to function effectively in the real world of personnel practice.

Donald Currie has seventeen years' experience in Personnel as both a senior manager and a consultant, after qualifying as an Applied Occupational Psychologist. He subsequently joined Southampton Institute where he has run the Personnel Management Programme for many years and introduced the IPD-CPP course of which he is course leader.

He broadcasts and speaks widely on personnel issues with a special interest in occupational stress.
